Loosing Our Cool
Oil paint and passion on canvas, 18" x 24"
In the wake of the #METOO movement and Kavanaugh trial, this is a portrait of one of the women present at the hearing.
Inspired by the photo portraying women's expressions behind Kavanaugh; I wanted to embody the revolution happening in the fight for women's rights. It shines as an impressionist piece, that focuses not on the subject's association, but her facial expression. The firey colors consuming the once calm tones of blue represent the rise of women empowerment in the me too movement, putting my own views on this subject's narrative.

Basquiat & Steinem
Marbled paper and portrait with pencil on wood.
Basquit- 12.5" x 8" : $15.00 + shipping
Steinem-12" x 8" : $15.00 + shipping
$25.00 + shipping for both
Two works sold separately or together, these mixed media pieces are both aesthetically pleasing and iconic. One features a portrait of the powerful feminist, young Gloria Steinem. The other, a young Jean-Michel Basquiat; a revolutionary Haitian-Puerto Rican artist gone too soon. If you know either of these legends you know that they are worth displaying. If you don't know these two, get to educating yoself.
Whoops! I, II, III, IV
Silver halide photographic print in matte finish on high quality, fade-resistant paper, 12" x 18"
Whoops! I, II, III, and IV. A four part series that grabs the viewers attention for the better. At first glance these photos may appear to be pop art inspired images of soup, but these alphabet noodles have some news for you. Spelling out 2019 stastics exposing gender inequality, these images are a light hearted take on a much deeper issue. Silver halide photographic prints bring out lustrous color with a high-quality, fade-resistant, matte finish.

Milk & Honey
Oil paint on wood.
17" x 24"
A combination of a quote from Vincent Van Gogh's "Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette" (1885), a stock image of dripping of honey, and the "Got Milk?" logo. Three unlikely pieces living together in this bubblegum pink world; the only correlation being some milk and honey.

Perspective
Mixed media on canvas board.
8" x 10"
Hopefully this work paints a smile on every viewer. Inspired by my trips to Nicaragua, I wanted to show pure happiness as an outcome of love and play. I became motivated to share what I have learned from the community of Popoyo; people with very little materialistic things, but an overflow of love and happiness. Use as a reminder to appreciate the little things and to never lose your sense of play.
